Sunshine Acres Childrens Home

Sunshine Acres Children’s Home was established in 1954 by Vera and Jim Dingman to care for the educational, emotional, physical, social and spiritual needs of children.

“We receive boys and girls as young as five and as old as fourteen. These children find a home at Sunshine Acres, and after their initial year, may stay as long as a home is needed…some have stayed all the way through college. Fees are individually based and children are never turned away for financial reasons.” Carol L. Whitworth, Executive Director, Sunshine Acres Children’s Home

Through the years, over 1,400 children have called Sunshine Acres their home.

Arizona Masonry Guild’s members had the privilege of donating masonry materials to help build a new girl’s dorm – final completion date of the dorm is scheduled for early 2006.

Sunshine Acres Children’s Home does not receive any government support – but thrives through private donations, corporate gifts, and designated gifts from the United Way.

If you’d like to learn more about Sunshine Acres Children’s Home, you can call 480.832.2540 or visit their web site at www.sunshineacres.org.
